A message from Brent Owens

Brent Owens, president of All Valley Home Health Care

“When I first met Barbara Applegate over 20 years ago, she expressed to me that clients’ needs were paramount and had to be fulfilled with integrity if I were to work with her in home care. During those early years, she impressed me with her advocacy for clients and the need to coordinate and collaborate with other professionals.

This was the first time I had collaborated with another business owner. Barbara trained me to think through the client experience and implement strategies that were effective. I’ve come to understand how concierge level service can be accomplished in adult home care. It’s not “if” but “how” when it comes to care for clients.

I believe we have been able to provide care together at the highest levels over decades because of our shared value system. It’s with great pride that I encourage any adult children seeking to help their parents or other loved ones through the aging process, to seek advice, counsel and wisdom in these pages.

In a time when service to others sometimes seems less than achievable, “My Parent Needs Help!: A Roadmap to Understanding & Caring for My Aging Parent” reflects her extensive knowledge and expertise in providing solutions and wisdom to those in need.

This comprehensive guide to parent care (or any elderly person) reflects Barbara’s lifetime in Elder Care Advising. To Barbara, there are no shortcuts when it comes to in-home care.”
